GETTING THERE AND BACK
GETTING THERE AND BACK
Where in the world is mount ophir?
The Mount Ophir Estate is located in Rutherglen, Victoria, which is north of Melbourne on the border between New South Wales and Victoria.
How to get there ...
... By Bus
We have arranged a bus running between the Melbourne CBD and the Mount Ophir Estate on:
- Friday - Melbourne to Mt Ophir, departing at about 3:00
- Sunday - Mt Ophir to Melbourne, departing at about 12:30
Note that the exact departure point in the Melbourne CBD is to be confirmed, but we will be aiming for a pick-up point close to Southern Cross Station.
Places on busses are limited. You will be asked to confirm whether you would like a place on the bus when you RSVP.
... By Car
Mount Ophir is roughly 3.5 hours from Melbourne and 9 hours from Adelaide by car and there is plenty of parking on the Estate.
All parking is outdoors and uncovered.
... By Train, plane or magical umbrella
Rutherglen is roughly 30 minutes out of Albury/Wodonga, which are accessible by plane and by train. How you get from there to Mount Ophir is entirely up to you!

WHERE TO STAY
WHERE TO STAY
How do the accommodation options work?
Given that everyone will be travelling, we have organised a few accommodation options - see below for more details. Alternatively, there is plenty of accommodation in the area if you would prefer to organise your own.
There are limited on-site apartments, and therefore priority will be given to family and those for whom glamping might not be appropriate. The way that we are managing this is:
- When you RSVP, you will be asked to confirm your accommodation preferences and who you intend to share accommodation with.
- After we have everyone's on-site preferences, we will allocate people to the perfect accommodation and send a confirmation email or message with a link.
- Once you receive the link, you will need to log back in to our website to confirm your accommodation allocation and to pay.
We've set out more detail of the options and appropriate charges below with some links where you can find some more information.

Accommodation FAQ (... we presume, given we haven't spoken to anyone about it or had any questions yet)
Can I book for one night?
No, not for the on-site accommodation. All of the on-site accommodation options are available to us on a minimum 2-night stay basis, so we unfortunately can't offer a room for the Saturday night only.
are there Options for larger groups?
There are 2 rooms available in the apartments which each have 2 queen beds and 1 bunk bed (sleeping up to 6 people). If you and your family (or friends) are interested, please let us know in the comments in your RSVP and we'll allocate you one of the rooms!
Note that the charge for these rooms will be slightly higher than other rooms with
1 queen bed and we will confirm the cost with those allocated the rooms.
can I make a booking By room/tent or by bed?
All accommodation is offered on a per-room or per-tent basis, and you will be asked when you RSVP if you are planning on bunking with anyone else (not included on your RSVP form).
Tents can be configured for between 1 and 6 people. You will be asked to confirm your preferred configuration when confirming and paying for the tent.
Except for the case referred to two questions to your right, all rooms have either 1 queen bed or 2 single beds. If you have a preference, please indicate this in the comments to your RSVP form.
What's covered by the accommodation cost?
You might be wondering what bang you will be getting for your buck if you join us at the on-site accommodation.
The accommodation charges cover, obviously, your accommodation (i.e., your room or tent) along with all of the amenities in the properties and Glamp David (and Andy).
We will also be covering the rest of the festivities for the weekend so no need to bring your wallets! Unless, of course, you are driving... in which case you should probably have your licence with you.
STEP FOUR:
ANY QUESTIONS
ANY QUESTIONS
What do you need to bring?
Nothing! We are taking care of all of the trimmings for the weekend - including meals, drinks and delightful activities - so other than yourselves, your Sunday finest and your dancing shoes, we've got you covered.
Do we have a registry?
Because we picked an awfully inconvenient location for everyone, you are going to have to travel. Given this, please do not feel the need to get us any presents! Besides, we've lived together for a while now so we have all the white goods you could ever need!
Have more questions?
If you have any questions or want someone to talk to about how excited you are for our wedding weekend, please give us a call on 0413 420 399 (Andrew) or 0433 622 482 (David).
If we start getting the same question a few times, we'll also make sure to add it here on the website.
